The 500 Film Challenge.

February.15.2011

In an attempt to resuscitate, Heimlich maneuver included, this film blog, there’ll be a slight in change in style since the focus of one of the main contributors, that’s me by the way, of this site is to accept a challenge that was given to him by another film buff.

The 500 Movie Challenge:

Underthefiretree24’s blog entry states that, in gist, you just have to watch five hundred films in one year. You have to create a write-up, if you’d like to be bolder create a critique then, of your experience in the film that you’ve just watched. You can’t do any film repeats. You can only create write-ups of films that are / were watched from the moment you start the dare, meaning you can’t do an article of a film you saw last week prior to the challenge..

Obviously, you can watch ten films in a day and create ten blog entries, as long as you do it in that one-year span that you’ve set. Oh, and it doesn’t matter if a film is bad, remember that all films are supposedly beautiful, being bad is only subjective in nature.

The layout of the site will remain and certain news of local film viewing of various non-mainstream films will also be posted once in a while. Film reviews of friends and contributors, who want to add articles in this site, are also welcome.

It may look easy but not really, I saw four hundred films last year and it was a sort of Herculean task in times when you just need to chill out and do some real rest. In case you’re reading this and you’d want to join in with the fun, please comment on this entry as we’d like to know if there are other people who’s doing this, even the non-hardcore film lovers are also welcome.

So, that’s it. Let the challenge begin!
